Designer Rugs By Jeff Banks

The Jeff Banks Designer Range has been a firm favourite with our customers for a number of years now. Each year sees the addition of brand new designs keeping this range at the cutting edge of interior fashion and in some cases setting new trends. Here we discuss the current range along with the latest additions.

For over 40 years Jeff Banks has been a worldwide leader in British design and fashion. Since launching his own fashion label in 1969 he had many accolades which include co-launching high street fashion chain Warehouse, winning British Designer of the Year and presenting The Clothes Show on BBC1.

The first Jeff Banks designer rugs branded ‘Ports of Call’ was first introduced in back in 2001. At this time the UK rug market was quite limited in terms of innovative designs, however the ‘Ports of Call’ range was quick to change that. The designs took their inspiration from the places he had visited when travelling around the world (hence the name ‘Ports of Call’) as well as his fashion collections which used bold shapes and daring colours to magnificent effect. Since launching in 2001 the ‘Ports of Call’ range has gone from strength to strength, each year the range is refreshed with brand new designs.

The current range of Jeff Banks Rugs includes seven wool shaggy designs from £129; eleven hand tufted wool designs from £129; six acrylic designs from £84; and twelve hand tufted fine acrylic designs from £144. The latest four additions are all made with a 100% fine acrylic pile to run along side the current twelve designs in this collection. Available in two sizes these new designs (pictured below) are named ‘Kaleidoscope’ due to their use of multiple bright vibrant colours and abstract patterns. Certainly not for the conservative, they are ideal for those that want to make a very bold fashionable statement on their floor. We have already stocked up heavily on each design as we suspect they will be very popular with our customers.

Going Green

Recent months have seen a huge increase in the popularity of bright colours, and green has been the most popular of all. We take a look at why this colour has become so popular and also see which new designs are available in green tones from our online shop.

Traditionally neutral colours such as creams, beiges and brown rugs are our big sellers over the past few years with brighter colours tending to fall into more of a niche market. However it seems that many people have become rather bored of this quite plain and minimalist look. Interior fashion has moved in a different direction with more and more people choosing to become a bit more daring with their colour schemes and interior furnishings by choosing brighter more vibrant tones. We have seen a sharp increase in the popularity of colours such as teal blue, bright red, fushcia pink and most of all bright green.

Green is a very ‘outdoors’ colour bringing to mind plants, trees and grass. If used correctly having green in your colour scheme can make your room feel more alive and fresh with an outdoor ambience. Our Glamour Grass shaggy rug is a fantastic rug to use for this purpose.

Another reason that green has become so popular is that it is an excellent accent colour. Neutral shades such as beiges and browns can be used in your colour scheme but can sometimes look slightly when used on their own. Adding some green in small amounts as an accent colour to your room can make it much more interesting and visually appealing. These accent colours can be used almost anywhere, in curtains, cushions, ornaments and of course in a rug.

Since the popularity of green rugs has risen we have been quick to respond with a whole host of fresh new designs in green tones. Our brand new Harlequin and Matrix ranges contain several designs which use green as an accent colour such as the MA09-917, MA09-915, MA09-911, MA09-946, HA09-928 and HA09-907. Our new Jeff Banks designer ranges also feature green as an accent colour in many designs including the PC92 Florence, PC90 Antibes Flora, PC97 Sorrento and PC49 Kaleidoscope Garden. Plus we’ve added a whole host of new green shaggies including the Shine Lime Green, Whisper Apple, Jeff Banks Olive, Dumroo Fern and Jasper Forest Green.

All of these new designs are now available along with our current range which already contains hundreds of designs in green. To see them all simply go to our online shop and use our search facility to search by colour for green rugs.
