Forget #fitspo or #foodspo, we’re all about #rugspo! Whether you need to warm up your living room, add a splash of colour to your bedroom, or find that perfect wall decoration for your study, you can always rely on a rug. However sometimes it can be tricky to find the right rug. What colour should you go for? Do you want shaggy or flatweave? What size do you need? Fear not! With a little help from some of our most style-savvy customers, we’ve put together some fantastic #rugspo to give you all the inspiration you need.
We’re kicking things off with one of our favourite Instagrammers. Kat (@projecthomedesign) has a wonderfully eclectic sense of style; you can really see her personality shine through in her room designs. In this particular post, Kat has paired our thick, hand carved Hong Kong Grey / Yellow rug with a bright yellow chair and pouf, finishing things off with a quirky bee cushion. Behind, Kat has a truly unique sideboard laden with candles and ornaments, a perfect contrast to the very simple design of the rug. This is echoed by the mix of artwork scattered across the wall and reflected in the ornate mirror. Finally, Kat has breathed life into the room with a serene collection of potted plants.
Next up, we’ve got Amber (@foreveramberblog). By using a muted palette of pinks and greys, Amber has created a tranquil haven in her master bedroom. The stylish white bed and bedside table melt away into the light grey wall, allowing you to focus on the decor and soft furnishings. Amber has expertly added warmth to the room with a beige sofa and a soft, shaggy Royal Nomadic Cream / Grey rug. To offset the modern colour scheme, Amber has opted for a retro sofa and coffee table, creating a perfectly balanced placed to unwind.
The great outdoors
Rugs go inside, right? Nope! Outdoor rugs are the next big thing, as shown by Emma (@blanketsbeautiful) with this beautiful garden setup. Adding a rug to your patio can help blend the transition from inside to outside, turning two separate areas into one fluid living space. Emma has used our flatweave Patio Diamond Mono rug to do just this, using it as an anchor for her outdoor living space. Surrounded by pot plants and garden ornaments, and complimented by a plain grey sofa, this rug offers the best of both indoors and outdoors. Providing some additional decoration at eye height, Emma has made use of her fence to hang a striking gold lantern and a rustic wooden heart. To finish things off, Emma has added a splash of colour with some bright bunting.
Fourth on our list, we have Di (@vegan_di). Di has created a beautifully retro living room with a clear colour scheme and a recurring theme of repeating, geometric patterns. Proving that carpets and rugs can work together, Di has used our Arlo Chevron Lemon / Grey rug to give her room a bold centrepiece. Di has kept the rest of the room very simple, opting for a clean, uncluttered aesthetic, which works perfectly with the fresh, citrus colour scheme.
At one with nature
We couldn’t finish this post without one more photo from Kat (@projecthomedesign). Here Kat has perfectly balanced the indoors and outdoors. The rustic wooden coffee table immediately puts you in mind of a decked garden, and effortlessly draws your eye to the patio and lawn outside. By grouping a selection of small potted plants together, and by raising them off the floor with use of a side table, Kat has brought an idea of nature inside without letting it take over the room. Finally, Kat has added warmth to the stylish grey floor and exposed brick wall with our Serengeti Red / Grey rug.
